Over the Christmas break FDC have taken part in two challenges in the Xventure Corporate Challenge, Office Ironman and Empire Building.
Office Ironman took place on the Cairns Foreshore Lagoon where the teams had to compete in a race with six different disciplines, with the final leg requiring half the team to pull the other half to the finish line. The six disciplines involved paddling, swimming, and diving. FDC came 2nd in their heat but were still placed mid field overall once the challenge was completed.
In the fourth challenge, Empire Building, each team were required to dismantle a box with many components attached, put each piece through its corresponding hole and reassemble it on the other side of the screen. The fastest time with few defects as possible would win the challenge.
With a background of expertise in the construction industry this was a challenge FDC felt highly confident in so they decided to play their XVenture card. Playing the XVenture card meant that FDC could double their awarded money from the position they came in.
FDC placed 3rd in Empire Building which was the highest placing for them in the challenges so far. Having been sitting mid field in the previous challenges this brought FDC up the leader board! With four challenges to go, FDC will have to continue to work hard to stay amongst the top.
The next challenge is Corporate Captains which takes place on the gorgeous beach of Palm Cove. Here the teams race in Outrigger canoes, testing their strength, endurance and of course teamwork. This is an adrenalin pumping race, one that shouldn’t be missed so make sure you’re watching Channel ONE on Saturday the 7th of January at 11am.
