Last Monday evening, Ben Cottle, FDC’s Managing Director, took part in OzHarvest and Mission Australia’s ‘CEO Cookoff’ at Cathedral Square in Sydney.
Ben joined 131 other CEOs from around Australia and 30 celebrity chefs including Neil Perry of Rockpool and Guillaume Brahimi of Guillame at Bennelong, to compete in the realm of food production and feed up to 1,000 people.
As well as raise funds for OzHarvest and Mission Australia, the Cookoff is held to increase awareness of major social issues across Australia, homelessness in particular.
As part of the competition, CEOs were divided into groups of ten with each team allocated one of the country’s top chefs to help prepare meals for the disadvantaged.
Other participating CEOs included: Alan Joyce (Qantas), Mark Britt (ninemsn), Phillip Muhlbauer (Link Market Services) and David Gallop (NRL).
Ben Cottle raised more than $52,000 and is proud to be the second highest fundraiser. Total donations for the event came to $940,000.
