This project involves the refurbishment of a six storey occupied commercial building. The works include ground floor entry / lobby refurbishment, new finishes to existing base building toilets, and new electrical, mechanical and fire services.
A key aspect of this project is the fact that it will be completed whilst the building remains tenanted, therefore thorough coordination is required to liaise with tenants regarding power shutdowns (for main switchboard replacement), and tenant relocations – for this reason the project is staged.
Other notable challenges on the project include the demolition of an asbestos stairwell; external demolition on council footpath;, major crane lifts for mechanical plant, and the requirement to liaise with council and utility authorities for new services into the property. All this work is to be completed in 17 weeks, with a project completion target of early October, and within one of Brisbane’s busiest / most high profile CBD streets.
