This project is notable because of its highly technical nature. As a leading edge mobile communications provider, HTAL’s uniquerequirements, for redundancy, standby generation, UPS, electrical services, monitoring systems, fire protection and security were challenging.

Continual evolution of the technology was evident during the fitout, as this project is part of a leading edge telecommunicationsdevelopment. These changes demanded extraordinary coordination between client, technical specialists, design consultant, services consultant, site contractors and FDC as construction managers.

Despite time and technology hurdles, the project was delivered on time and FDC have since been appointed to manage theMelbourne exchange. Project total exceeds $10 000 000.00.

The Sydney project has been recognised with an MBA “Excellence in Construction” Award in the inaugural and competitivecategory of “Communications Buildings”.
