FDC were thrilled to see one of our own, Todd Lane featured in the most recent issue of the Australian Institute of Building’s Construct Magazine.
Todd is working as a junior contracts administrator in our Brisbane office, where he’s recently finished working on the fitout project at 175 Eagle Street in Brisbane, and is now involved in a 275 sqm fitout for a legal firm on Adelaide Street in Brisbane.
Todd is the QLD Young Builders Alliance Chair and also a recent graduate of the Queensland University of Technology. In his interview with Construct Magazine, he outlined the research he completed when writing his uni thesis on the factors impacting the mental wellbeing of cadet undergrads in the building industry who are juggling full-time work, study, and the other aspects of their lives.
His choice of topic came from a personal desire to do two things. Firstly, to be able to spot the initial signs of psychological distress amongst cadets, and also to suggest methods to help building cadets maintain balance in their busy lives and reverse the beginnings of mental distress.
In his time at FDC, Todd says he is enjoying moving through the construction, fitout and retail divisions, and he recognises the work FDC do in providing an intervention-based assistance program to acknowledge the importance of positive mental health.
FDC are very proud of Todd’s work and pleased to have him as part of the FDC family.
