The Brookland Retirement Living Stage 2 project involved the construction of a six-story residential building, forming the second stage of a two-stage development within an operational retirement village.
The Stage 2 building consists of:
- 53 high-quality apartments
- Two basement car parking levels
- Amenities including a cinema, library and external entertainment areas
- Extensive landscaping
- Demolition of an existing community centre to facilitate construction
FDC led the design development from 30% to 90%, ensuring thorough cost planning and value management before the lump sum D&C contract was finalised.
Innovative solutions were implemented to safely integrate the Stage 2 basement with Stage 1 overcoming complex structural challenges. A tower crane and a well-planned laydown area allowed efficient material handling despite space constraints.
