The Robert & Jeanne Szeto PET-CT Centre at Sydney Adventist Hospital will contribute to the early detection and diagnosis of cancer and brain diseases in Sydney’s Upper North Shore area and beyond.

The fitout comprised of 450m2 inclusive of office space, reporting rooms, reception area, patient injection/uptake rooms, radioisotopes handling facilities and the PET/CT scanning room and was designed in close proximity with the end users with optimisation of patient workflow in mind to maximise throughput and increase operational efficiency.

Works being undertaken whilst the surrounding area was still a live hospital environment required constant liaising with staff to ensure disruptive and noisy works/deliveries were pre-planned and scheduled to minimise impact on the surrounding staff and operational capacity of the hospital. Dust and debris were required to be kept to an absolute minimum to mitigate the risk of the spread of infection throughout the space.

The Sydney Adventist Hospital PET-CT Centre is the largest of its kind in New South Wales and is home to state-of-the-art imaging technology for cancer identification. The facility is the culmination of a coordinated effort from the optimised design to the technically challenging construction between all parties. The result is a space with the perfect blend of aesthetics and functionality; favouring a more modern and inviting décor in lieu of a traditional clinical finish.
