FDC have completed works at The Gunnery in Woollomooloo for Artspace – one of the country’s leading institutions for the production and presentation of contemporary art.
The three-floor refurbishment encompasses open gallery spaces, offices, meeting and multipurpose rooms, and 11 vast artist studios enabling ultimate creativity.
Works included extensive demolition throughout, complete replacement of all service to become compliant, revitalize floor layouts, install a new passenger lift, install a new fire rated flooring system, replace entire roof and mechanical roof equipment.
From its original purpose of a bulk paper storage facility to becoming a military instruction centre for the use of guns, The Gunnery has lived many lives but none more important than as a public arts space serving its community for 40 years.
