Virgin Active, Barangaroo

FDC’s Virgin Active, Barangaroo at 400 Barangaroo Avenue, Exchange Place is Australia’s first ever Collection Club and the fourth health club that FDC have delivered for Virgin Active.

The new Club showcases Virgin Active’s vision for the future of fitness, according to Australia’s Managing Director, Scott Hood, around irresistible exercise experiences, where every aspect of a club and class has been tailored to create a polysensory experience.

Works included the construction of various specialty training studios. The Burn™ strength and cardio studio feature state-of-the-art SKILLMILL™’s and controlled lighting. An architecturally curved timber ceiling envelops the Revolution™ cycle studio whilst aqua bags are suspended from a timber-clad steel beam in the Focus™ boxing studio.

All studios have been equipped with bespoke rubber flooring and technologies integration allowing for easy visual and audio manipulation allowing the instructors full control of their classes.

FDC delivered this project in conjunction with Endrim, Aston, POV, Acoustic Logic, Aurecon and DSA.
