A Federal Government Client’s 6,000sqm Townsville office space has been freshly fitted-out by FDC (QLD), giving their staff a state-of-the-art workplace.

Light and bright spaces over four levels have been created, with dedicated zones including workstations, kitchens, staff breakout areas and the office reception.

FDC Senior Project Manager Gavin O’Halloran said there were a number of considerations that were carefully executed during this project.

“Seismic restraints, due to the office being located in Townsville, were a key element of this fitout. Steel beams were installed above all glazed partitions.

All plasterboard partitions were run slab to slab and a feature timber screen also had to have steel beams above and fixed to it,” Gavin said.

Privacy and security were also key considerations for this government client. This was reflected in partitions being required to achieve specified acoustic ratings.

Other features of the project include:

  • Multiple comms rooms with cooling and gas suppression
  • Acoustic rated glazing and partitions
  • Bespoke joinery
  • Planter boxes and greenery.
