The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) engaged FDC to fitout their new Brisbane workspace (CASA’s second largest office after Canberra) under a fixed lump sum contract. The works consisted of a 3,000sqm warm shell fitout across 1.5 floors within 180 Ann Street – an ‘A’ grade, 6-star Greenstar building in Brisbane’s CBD.

The Mill Design (Architect) and BSE (Services Engineer) collaborated on the design featuring extensive timber clad walls, meeting rooms, workstation areas and acoustic finishes. A number of exisiting latent conditions and services clashes were identified during construction. FDC was proactive in suggesting solutions to the consultant team which resulted in minimal delays to the nine week programme.

This project was delivered within a ‘live’ occupied building, where multiple builders were working on other tenancies. This required strict coordination with Daisho’s building management to ensure the project maintained programme whilst ensuring tenants experienced minimal disruption to their day-to-day business.

Other partners involved in this bespoke project included Knight Frank, Arcadis and Knisco.
