Warmth and light fill the new workspace of a leading, Sydney-based financial services company.

Designer Bates Smart received the brief from the client to design a space where all team members felt valued and empowered. The client also wanted to showcase their local identity and connection to Sydney as well as their global reach.

The 1,200sqm office space was seamlessly delivered and provides an inspirational space for the client’s team to work from. The reception and lounge area acts as a veranda to the workplace, providing an element of indoor/outdoor living typical of Australian homes.

The materiality selected celebrates sustainable timbers that are locally sourced where possible. The remaining palette invites lightness and warmth into the office and evokes a sense of wellness and balance.

It was an excellent effort from our Fitout & Refurbishment team and project consultants to deliver a beautiful and detail-oriented project in a short period of time, during a pandemic and a lockdown.
