FDC partnered with CAE and ESR to deliver a state-of-the-art, purpose-built Sydney Flight Training Facility strategically located in St Peters near Sydney Airport. Spanning three levels, the facility is designed to train up to 4,500 Qantas and Jetstar pilots and cabin crew annually, supporting the aviation industry’s most advanced operational standards.
The building incorporates cutting-edge technology, including full-flight simulators, emergency training equipment such as slides, rafts and door trainers, as well as multiple classrooms and office spaces tailored to Qantas’ requirements. The scope encompassed:
- Demolition and remediation of existing structures and contaminated fill soils
- Construction of a three-storey concrete and steel structure with integrated services
- External pavements and landscaping works revitalising the Alexandria Canal State Heritage precinct
- Installation of two new electrical substations, a new sewer connection, and diversion of an existing stormwater line
This landmark project combines technical complexity with precision delivery, ensuring a work-class training environment that meets the evolving needs of Australia’s aviation sector.
