Remote Operations Centres (ROC) are specialised mission critical facilities that enable mining operations to be managed remotely. These facilities have the capability to manage autonomous vehicle fleets, processing plants, and analyse data to optimise productivity and safety – all from a single high-tech location often hundreds of kilometers from the mine istelf.
Equipped with advanced data analytics, live monitoring systems, and communication networks, ROCs improve efficiency, reduce operational costs, and enhance workplace safety and psychosocial health by minimizing the need for workers to travel to and work in hazardous environments.
Supporting 50 operators working 24/7, this custom-built ROC was designed to support extensive IT equipment, with sit-to-stand desks lifting over 500kg and high-end ergonomic operator chairs. Smart lighting with circadian programming and a 2N redundant plant were installed to enable 24x7x365 operations with no interruptions for breakdowns or routine maintenance.
FDC is proud to have now delivered three of these mission critical facilities in Queensland.
